Suffering from muscle pain, but not exercised? Here it comes

Do you suffer from muscle pain, but have you not exercised? We have listed a number of possible and common causes.

1. Flu

One of the symptoms of the flu is muscle aches. Are you still not bothered by anything? Muscle pain can be a signal that you have the flu after all. In that case, you'll find out soon enough.

2. Bruising

Because of a bruise the muscle sometimes swells, making it less easy to move.

3. Clap or fall

Did you fall or get hit? Even if you don't feel anything at first, you can have a lot of muscle soreness the next day from the force that has been exerted on your muscles.

4. Side effect of medicines

For example, cholesterol-lowering drugs are notorious for muscle pain as a side effect, but this is not the only drug with this side effect. Check the package inserts of any medicines you are taking.

5. Stress

Stress can have a different effect on the body in everyone. Due to the tension that builds up in your body, stress can cause pain in your muscles.

6. Overload

Repeatedly making the same (type of) movements can cause muscle pain. Check whether you have done anything in the past few days that your muscles are not used to. Unusual movements will bother you more quickly.

7. You slept wrong

Spending hours in a wrong position lying down can cause pain in your muscles.
