Pregnancy:eating eggs and bacon improves baby's IQ

It's not always easy to stuff yourself with protein, potato pancakes or red beans with tomatoes as soon as you wake up, and even less so when you are prone to morning sickness... However, a study carried out by the Cornell University (in the United States) reveals that eating eggs and bacon during the last three months of pregnancy could improve the IQ (intelligence quotient) of unborn babies. So, up for an English breakfast?

An essential nutrient

According to scientists, it is choline, a nutrient contained in eggs and bacon, which would increase the IQ of babies (as had already been shown in mice). To arrive at these results, they separated the 26 female volunteers into 2 distinct groups and administered 480 mg of choline per day (i.e. slightly more than the recommended dose) to the first, and 930 mg to the second. The children were then tested at the 4th, 7th, 10th and then at the 13th month, in order to analyze their motor skills, as explained by the magazine Metro . And the results are rather amazing, since the researchers found that the higher the level of choline ingested by the mother during pregnancy, the higher the baby's IQ was too. But choline has many other properties, and serves for example to reduce fatigue, to eliminate lipids but also to stimulate the action of neurotransmitters. And for those who are not big fans of eggs or bacon, choline is also found in broccoli, legumes or even nuts! Good app!
