It was meant to be

This week Marije has a wise lesson for perfectionists…

The Ninth Commandment
The Fitness Bible consists of ten commandments. "Scratch perfectionism out of your dictionary" is the ninth commandment for a reason, because I think perfectionism is an unhealthy quality. A perfectionist finds it difficult to cope with setbacks because she does not understand that mistakes and experiences are 'meant to be'. Goals are achieved, but this is accompanied by uncertainty and fear.

It's a learning process
A success story automatically turns into an agony, and I don't think that's the intention. As cliché as it is true, the detours we take are learning processes that ensure that we are more fun, wiser and stronger when we reach the finish line.

Let go
Believe me.. whatever you want to achieve in life, from NOW and FOREVER, delete the 100% line from your dictionary. Accept that things never go the way you want them to. NEVER! Don't be cocky, and trust me. Dare to let go.

No shine without friction
I hope you understand how important this is. Without friction no shine. Set attainable goals, do your best and learn from your mistakes.

It had to be this way
It doesn't have to be perfect, as long as you know that you are doing everything within your power to achieve your goals and understand that setbacks and mistakes come your way for a reason.
Create your own success story and end with the words “It was meant to be”.
