However, she explains, ethylene oxide "is a substance classified as a carcinogenic, mutagenic and reprotoxic agent (CMR), the use of which is prohibited in the European Union as a protective product. food and feed since 2011". Health authorities "are not aware of any reports of consumer ethylene oxide poisoning in connection with the recalled products" , however, specifies the authority.

More than sixty types of ice cream from different brands are affected by this withdrawal/recall. Extreme brands , Netto , Crossroads , Super U , Metro , Picard, Adelie or The Milkmaid issued warnings. Most were marketed in the brands of the same name, but also at Leclerc and Intermarché .
