Help, I have bad breath, what do I do?

It's (really) time to go to the dentist

Contrary to popular belief, it is not necessarily due to poor toothbrushing. However, if you haven't had scaling for X years, it's time to think about it because large dental plaque contributes to bad breath. Not to mention cavities, infections... which smolder under a tooth and which can give off an odor... The first step is therefore to go to your dentist for an oral diagnosis (which must, in any case, be carried out once a year with descaling)!

Also, don't forget to brush your tongue after each brew.

The intestinal flora often responsible

Bad breath is often the obvious sign of an imbalance in the intestinal flora. If, in addition, you chew gum all day long to hide it, that contributes even more to unbalancing it and it won't give you better breath (except for chewing gum time).

To do

Look at your tongue:is it "charged", i.e. white? Look no further, you need probiotics, which will simply rebalance your intestinal flora and reduce not only your bad breath, but also your bloating, gas etc.

Daniele Festy*, pharmacist, advises taking one sachet per day of Lactibiane (Pilèje) for a month, outside of meals.

She also advises to have capsules of essential oils of peppermint and caraway prepared at the pharmacist. To be taken 3 times a day for 20 days each month.

Foods that cause bad breath

Garlic, onion and tobacco are the worst enemies of good breath, followed by coffee, alcohol and curry. Instead, eat lots of raw fruits and vegetables and drink plenty of water (yes, the advice is still the same…).

And if your bad breath persists, seek medical attention as this may also signal an undiagnosed illness.
