Mooncup menstrual cup:how does it work?

What is the Mooncup?

It is a new form of periodic protection, in the form of a small bell 5 cm high in flexible, reusable silicone. It is placed in the vagina during menstruation:it retains the flow, but does not absorb it, so it must be emptied every four hours or so. Reusable for years – up to ten years if properly maintained – the Mooncup does not alter the vaginal flora. With it, no more vaginal dryness due to absorbent tampons, and no more diaper effect of pads!

Who is the Mooncup for?

The Mooncup comes in different sizes to accommodate all vagina sizes and flow abundances. It is therefore suitable for all women, but more particularly for those suffering from allergies with other periodic protections. Because the Mooncup is made of medical grade silicone, guaranteed free of chemicals and fragrances:it does not cause allergies or irritations.

Concretely, how do we use it?

You want to try the Mooncup, and your period has arrived. Let's go. Introduce the cup into your vagina, as you would a tampon. Once it's in place, there's nothing more to do for an average of four hours, after which you just have to remove it by pulling on the small stick, empty it and rinse it with clear water before put it back in place. And so on until the end of your period. At the end of each period, sterilize your Mooncup well with a sterilizing liquid, or by immersing it for 5 minutes in a pot of boiling water. So more restrictive than conventional protections, yes, but we get something for nothing!
