The right reflexes when you spend time in front of your screen

Headaches, itchy eyes, neck pain... Do you too suffer from the number one occupational hazard of the 21st century, computer vision syndrome? The expression is barbaric, but nothing too bad. These are symptoms that appear after spending at least three hours a day in front of a screen, and this is the daily life of more than 70 million people on Earth. Some habits die hard, but it's not too late to change them, and to make the children benefit from them too!

So what causes sore eyes after a day at work in front of your post? This is because they are particularly challenged by digital writing, which is made up of pixels, with tiny dots that are sharp in the center, and blurred at the edges, unlike handwriting which is full and sharp. The eyes must constantly focus on the text, then relax, before focusing again to read the pixels, which strains the muscles.

Here are some tips to remedy this:first, take 20-second breaks every 20 minutes, and focus your gaze on objects located about 6 meters from your position. Then, we force ourselves to blink (something we forget to do in front of a screen) in order to moisten them and reduce irritation. Finally, we choose adequate equipment:we recommend flat screens, with anti-reflective filters, and we favor lenses over glasses (which also reduce reflections). As for the position to be adapted, it depends on the specificity of each one. But it's best to look at a screen positioned below your gaze, and place it about 46 to 66 centimeters from your face.

Last advice:we sit on a REAL chair, which supports the lower back and we keep our feet glued to the ground.
