FoodT, the game that would make us lose weight

We love junk food, but what we don't like is the problems that come with it. English researchers from the University of Exeter have developed a smartphone game that promises to curb our cravings for junk food. Her name ? FoodT for Food Training. 10 minutes is the time you should spend playing FoodT a day to lose pounds.

Knowing healthy foods

To earn points, simply select foods considered healthy from a list of foods displayed on the screen. It's very simple, but playing 10 minutes a day would reduce our cravings for junk food. How so ? By dint of playing, our brain gets used to this differentiation and learns to do it by itself. The game implants in our brain the idea that vegetables and fruits are better than hot dogs, burgers and other junk food. But that's not all:according to The Telegraph , our brain usually associates junk food with pleasure (through the release of dopamine and endorphin, triggers of the brain's reward system). The goal of the game is therefore to change this by associating healthy foods with pleasure and thus naturally repressing bad habits. Doubtful? According to a first study, 83 out of 100 players reduced the number of calories consumed daily by an average of 220. Good point:the application is customizable and allows us to choose the foods that we want to categorize as junk food.

For the moment, FoodT is available for free on the PlayStore (under development for an upcoming release on the App Store). Are we testing?
