Hydroalcoholic gel would not be good for your health

Triclocarban and triclosan:if these two terms may not mean anything to you, they are part of the composition of most hydroalcoholic gels. So far, nothing terrible. Yes, but… These two chemical substances are thought to be the cause of many disturbances in the human hormonal system. Their job? They are bactericides, that is, designed to destroy bacteria.

A use questioned

Both antiseptics were already banned in the United States in 2016. Since then, more than 200 scientists and health professionals from 29 different countries have been sounding the alarm against these antibacterial gels. They call for very limited production and question the use of triclosan, triclocarban and other antimicrobials. Words supported by studies that demonstrate the effectiveness of these antiseptics. They demonstrate that these gels do not destroy the bacteria at all as expected. The US health authority has already banned more than 19 components since 2016.

Present in many products

With regular use, these two components would greatly promote the development of breast cancer, harm sperm but also the fetus in pregnant women. And these components are present in many more everyday objects than you might think:toothpaste, toys, clothes. And if they cannot be removed from products against acne (because this disease comes from microbes, therefore bacteria), the 200 researchers nevertheless ask that they be removed from other products.

So, maybe we'll take it easy on the hydroalcoholic gel...
