Ginger helps against muscle pain

Suffering from muscle pain after exercise? Eating ginger then acts as a pain reliever. This is shown by research from the State University in Milledgeville.

The medicinal effect of ginger has been known for some time. Ginger is often used in Chinese medicine for nausea and upset stomach † But now researchers have also found that it helps reduce muscle soreness after exercising.

The investigation
In an experiment, the researchers got 74 people to eat ginger after exercise † The sports exercises that the participants had to do were intended to create as much muscle pain as possible † During an 11-day period in which the participants exercised, they were given a nutritional supplement once a day. † The researchers alternate ginger supplements with placebos † After eating the ginger supplements, muscle pain decreased by 25 percent.
