From the treadmill to the outside

Some runners choose to run on the treadmill in the winter. Now that the mercury is rising, how do you make the switch outside?

Get good shoes
Running outside is heavier and more taxing than running on the treadmill. Make sure you have good shoes that absorb shocks.

Start slow
Headwind, uneven surfaces. After months on the treadmill, you may feel very slow outside. Don't focus on your speed, but enjoy the fresh air and the environment.

Watch your safety
Outside you have to deal with your environment, including traffic. Do you like to run to a hard beat? When you run outside, it is wise to turn the volume down a bit.

Keep track of your time
It is good to know what time and distance you have walked afterwards. You can use an app to keep track of this.
