What happens to fat when you lose weight?

If you burn more calories than you take in, you will lose weight, but where does the fat actually go?

Have no idea?

You're not the only one who doesn't know the answer. A survey by The British Medical Journal shows that many doctors, personal trainers and other experts don't really know it either. Many of them think that the fat is converted into energy or heat/sweat, but that is not the case.

Where is the fat?

To find the answer to the pressing question, a researcher examined the way out of each atom. This shows that 80 percent of the fat leaves the body through the lungs. You exhale the fat as carbon dioxide. The other 20 percent fat is lost through water in the form of sweat, urine and tears.
