Our animal friends allowed in a Canadian hospital for the well-being of patients

The Juravinski Hospital therefore decided to create a new program called “Zachary’s Paws for Healing which has the principle of allowing patients to receive visits from their pets in order to soothe their stress and above all, to invigorate their morale!

This beautiful project bears the name of its initiator, Zachary Noble, who has since died of cancer in the same establishment. When he was still patient, he had been able to receive visits from his dogs and his aunt Donna Jenkins could only see that she was beneficial each time. After his death, she decided to create this association in his memory, in order to ensure that other patients suffering from serious illnesses would also have the chance to spend some time with their beloved animals, even in the hospital.

So far, 25 visits have taken place between intensive care patients and their four-legged friends.

Donna Jenkins is very happy with the success of her program and hopes that the idea can spread to other hospitals around the world. And we hope so too!
