Health:a study points to the danger of artificial sweeteners

Heart attack, type 2 diabetes, obesity… these are the risks to which we would be exposed by consuming artificial sweeteners (or synthetic sugars) over the long term, according to the latest study from the Canadian University of Manitoba. And artificial sweeteners, we find them everywhere:in diet sodas and “fake sugars” such as aspartame or Stevia. Recommended as part of a diet, they would actually have a completely different effect, that of making you fat (among other things).

Increased waistline and health issues

This is a major study that was conducted by Canadian researchers:it is based on 40 previous studies carried out on more than 400,000 people over 10 years. In particular, they reveal that so-called light drinks could be the cause of obesity, hypertension, stroke-type heart problems and an increase in diabetes. Artificial sweeteners, or fake sugars, replace glucose, “raw sugar”. Professor Ryan Zarychanski (in charge of the study) recommends to remain cautious about the quantities consumed even if the study has not yet precisely determined which are the culprits of these health problems and the quantities which cause problems. /P>

When in doubt… we might stick with real sugar (in moderation too)!
