Writing your to-do list before going to bed, the option for sleeping well

Sleep disorders are a real health problem, and people who suffer from them have generally tried everything to succeed in falling asleep more quickly and avoiding nocturnal awakenings. Among what is generally advised, we think of avoiding screens, not trying to fall asleep at all costs, sleeping in the dark, avoiding thinking about the next day (and possible annoyances)... Eh well, it would seem that this last point is wrong. A study has shown that writing a to-do list of things to do the next day makes it possible to fall asleep faster and more serenely. Like what…

A precise list

The study, conducted by researchers from the University of Baylor (Texas, United States), studied the behavior of 57 students aged 18 to 30. They were asked to go to bed at 10:30 p.m. and take 5 minutes before turning off the light to either list the things they had done during the day or to list what they had to do the next day. . Verdict? People who wrote their to-do list fell asleep much faster than the others. The more precise the list, the faster you fell asleep! According to Michael K. Scullin, director of the Laboratory of Neuroscience and Cognition at Baylor University, many of us think about what to do the next day in our heads, and it can be a source of stress. Writing these things down could avoid or in any case reduce anxiety and allow you to go to bed more serenely.

Anyway, give it a try!
