Why do some Olympic athletes have red circles on their bodies?

Have you noticed the red circles yet? This is why some athletes walk around with it.

The red, sometimes even purple, circles arise after cupping. Cupping is a method of soothing sore muscles. Suction cups are placed on painful areas. They create a vacuum and lift the skin, which is good for blood circulation, among other things. Athletes see it as a way to promote recovery.

Many athletes and trainers believe in the effect of cupping, but there is no scientific proof yet that it works.
