This is how you keep running fun

Sure, you run because you like it so much. Goodbye stress and worry, hello happiness hormones and satisfaction. But sometimes you just don't feel like it. The secret to keep it fun:variety.

With the right preparation, anyone can run a marathon, you can read in Santé's April issue. Do you not want to think about such distances yet, or do you do another sport than running? You like it with variety.

Change is good
That variety can be everywhere. In fact, you should try out everything that you can vary as much as possible, says Imo Muller. In 2014 he won bronze at the Dutch Marathon Championships. 'Think about changing your running shoes, changing surfaces, varying the pace and the duration of your training. Walk alone, but also in a group, listen to music and sometimes just to the sounds outside.'

Out of your comfort zone
The more variety, the better – that's how you get out of your comfort zone. Also switch when it comes to training location. Because what could be more fun than trying out a new route? So take the train to another city or country. A good excuse to book another holiday soon.
